The Comité de Vigilance pour la Démocratie en Tunisie is NGO with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), dedicated to promoting and defending democratic values, human rights, and civic participation in Tunisia, particularly in the context of the political changes that followed the 2011 Revolution.

Objectives and Mission
1. Promotion of Democracy: The CVDT is committed to strengthening democratic institutions in Tunisia and encouraging active citizen participation in political processes.
2. Protection of Human Rights: The organization monitors human rights violations and advocates for necessary reforms to protect the fundamental rights of citizens.
3. Education and Awareness: The CVDT organizes awareness campaigns and training sessions to inform the public about their rights, the importance of democracy, and civic engagement.
4. Election Monitoring: The committee plays a role in observing elections to ensure that these processes are transparent and fair.
5. Advocacy: The CVDT engages in dialogue with policymakers and national and international institutions to promote policies that support democracy and human rights.

Activities
– Reports and Studies: The CVDT produces reports on the political and social situation in Tunisia, providing analyses of the challenges the country faces regarding democracy and human rights.
– Events and Forums: The organization participates in national and international events, such as the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and other forums, to address specific issues related to women’s rights, democracy, and governance.
– Collaboration with Other NGOs: The CVDT collaborates with other civil society organizations, both nationally and internationally, to strengthen collective efforts in favor of human rights.
